The Complete Flat Roof Solution: You don’t have to tolerate the chill!
Cambridge Flat Roofing – If you have a flat roof in your home you will have probably noticed the sub-arctic conditions that characterise the room below it. There’s little to no insulation, which makes those rooms hard and expensive to heat and they may even appear to actively suck the heat out of any surrounding rooms. You may be forgiven for believing that your flat roof is haunted thanks to the damp, miserable and uninviting conditions but the answer is in fact quite simple and far easier for you to resolve. Believe us, we feel your pain, as do countless other flat roof owners throughout the country, we know exactly what the potential problems may be and we can help you fix them.
Was your roof built before or after 1986?
This is a very important question for you to consider as there was a significant change in building regulations that took place in 1986. It took a few years to filter through so you may even want to make some investigations if your roof was built in the years immediately following that date. Before 1986, flat roofs tended not to be built with a great deal of ventilation, you may think that that sounds like a positive given the perishing cold under a flat roof, but you’d be wrong. The average home produces something like 20 pints of moisture everyday, that’s about two and half buckets worth, and if that moisture has nowhere to vent it can do nothing but build up in the flat roof space resulting mould, rot and spores. This may be a particular problem for you if your flat roof houses your kitchen, utility room or bathroom.
